Story Sunday…Tuesday Pt 5

I figured I’d post this now because I honestly have not clue when I’d get around to doing it otherwise. I forgot to post on Sunday because I was at a friend’s place and didn’t think about it. For that, I apologize, but you’ll get over it.

I just finished my last day of high school… Still feels funny to say that. For this website, that means two things: more activity (If I can beat the laziness bug) and more sporadic posting. This summer is going to be very eventful for me, so I might have to do away with the scheduled updates and go with the whenever-I-get-to-it kinda thing. We’ll see. Anyway, here is part 5.

Story Sunday: (Pt 3)

640px-Quill_and_Ink

It’s that time of week again. It’s time for me to fill your social media feeds with links to this website, and you either click and read or get really irritated and keep scrolling. For me, it’s a time of nervousness.

I’m not sure how well this is received. When I had it on my old blog, I had people constantly coming up to me and asking what was going to happen… they actually cared. Now, my view count is down and numbers are diminished. I’m getting slightly discouraged, but that’s what I get for not heeding the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” adage.  Continue reading

Story Sunday! (Pt. 2 from last week)

640px-Quill_and_Ink

I picked a pretty random day to post the first part of my blog-story… let’s just say it didn’t translate into as many views as I was expecting. I wish I could tell you that views didn’t matter to me, but they do, otherwise I wouldn’t post content on the internet at all; I’m trying to gather a readership here! I do realize that by this time you have probably already made up your mind on whether or not you’re going to continually click these links, and that’s cool. I can’t force you to read anything… it would just improve your life a little if I could. I digress.  Continue reading

Story Time! (Redux)

640px-Quill_and_Ink

As I stated in my last post, I’m going to bring back the thing that got me my following on my other (and since deceased) blog. It was a story that I began writing as a junior in high school. It went over extremely well with those who read it, and I am aware of the need to put something creative on here, so I’m gonna test the waters for a bit.

Here’s the deal: I’m going to do exactly as I used to. I’ll post in 4 page increments, one time a week. I’ve got most of the story written and grouped already, so the suspense should hopefully keep ya coming back for more. Please keep in mind that this was done when I was a much more inexperienced writer, so there are probably some kinks and things I could’ve done better. But, as I said before, everyone who read it the first go ’round had nothing but good things to say, so hopefully that’ll hold true this time. I’m not even sure like this thing anymore. Let me know what you guys think!

IF this gets the same positive response, I’ll continue to post the story until it is completed (which will require some new writing on my part). If not enough people are diggin’ it, I’ll take it down and start fresh with a new one. Continue reading

I Believe in the Written Word

Realllly long and complicated story short: I’ve had a helluva weekend. It’s been loads of fun. On weekends like this, I usually don’t have time to write all that much. As I sat down earlier today to think of a blog post, I began to fall asleep at the keyboard because I didn’t get enough shut-eye on the nights prior.

Once I woke up from my 3 and a half hour nap, I tried my hand at this again… It’s been like an hour and I still don’t have much. I try to keep most of my posts somewhat writing-affiliated, and nothing new was coming to mind. I did, however, find an old essay from my junior year of high school that I’d like to share. The Top 5: Authors Who Have Influenced My Writing

Hey, everyone. You may be shocked to see a post from me in the middle of the week*, but as I said before, I am going to try to be a bit more active on my website. So I did a lot of thinking, and basically I came up with one idea: The Top 5 ____ Continue reading

Review: Total Frat Move

Total-Frat-Move-Cvr

This one wasn’t so much for you guys as it was for me. If you’ve been keeping up with my posts semi-regularly, you probably know that I’m leaving for college in August. I’m really excited, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna rush a frat. As I was in my future college’s bookstore the other day, I saw this book… I had a 20% off coupon that expired in May and I knew that if I didn’t buy something then said coupon would not be spent. Long story short: I bought the book. My opinions will forever be mixed. Continue reading

Review: Divergent

dddddddd

“Dude, you need to read Divergent. It’s really good.”

“Just read Divergent, man! You won’t regret it. You’ll finish it in like two days.”

“You better hurry up and read Divergent before the movie comes out!”

Well, I read the damn book. I read it, and I may be the only one in America to dislike it.  Continue reading

The Frustrations of a High School Senior

Care to take a guess on whether or not I have a book done this week? You probably shouldn’t guess, because if you have enough faith in me to say yes, you’d be incorrect-o. Care to take a guess at why? No? Well here it is: School wastes so much of my time that it’s ridiculous. I look at it as a necessary evil, but I’m convinced the format to high school is all wrong. I have very little time every night to do what I want–that includes reading and writing. Continue reading
